Back To School:   Registration 2011-2012

Fall Registration turnout bounded into full swing around 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 13th as  brand new cadets arrived from all four corners of the globe – parents, grandparents, family, friends, and a ton of school supplies in tow. 

Greeted at the Cadet Activities Center front entrance by Cadet Battalion Commander Michael McGraw and Cadet Sergeant Major Eun Huk Kwak, each new face was quickly identified by Admissions Director Capt Hinojosa, who slapped on a nametag while doling out a few words of advice. Cadets and entourage advanced through a systematic progression of Medical, Business, Academic, and Military departmental procedures, all making their way towards Barber Mr. Handy’s chair for the ‘Handy’ MMA special.  Each emerges from the chair with the same expressive grin as they check out their new look in Barber Handy’s full scale mirror, many running their palm across the scanty ‘turf’ where silky locks curled just a few seconds before. Then, it’s onward and UPward to stuff their multitudes of newly-acquired equipment and clothing into white and blue laundry sacks, then finally  (oh, sweet  joy!) settle in to a lunch to which not a soul could voice a complaint – hamburgers and fries!

MMA’s Academic Year 2011-2012 is off to a grand start, and we’re glad you’re on board…HOO RAH!
