LEADERSHIP 2011-2012 Is In The House!
The task of leadership is not to put greatness into people, but to elicit it, for the greatness is there already. - John Buchan
LEADERSHIP CAMP 2011-2012 is underway in a big way! Thirty-two returning cadets ‘smacking’ of leadership promise gathered in Conti Hall as of 0800 this morning, welcomed back aboard by MMA Superintendent Colonel Glenn Hill, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret) in a no-nonsense, let’s roll-up-our-sleeves and get-down-to-the-business-at-hand plan of action.
These young men are going to be plenty busy for the next few days, and then some. Following a brief session of tailoring and getting those attractive uniforms squared away, LEADERSHIP 2011-12 will be pulling out the notebooks and pens and heading to class – reviewing core values, leadership roles, responsibility, authority, time management skills, manual of arms, safety briefings, company mission statements and goals – not to mention PT, 1.5 mile runs, rifle range and paint ball competitions, and a few hours of rest… after TAPS, of course!
Academic Year 2011-2012 is shaping up to be yet another awesome year of discovery and milestones marked here at Marine Military Academy, and these young men are certifiably ready, willing and able to lead the charge…HOO RAH!
